    About

Tuck into a comforting meal of Southern Thai cooking, which bears a distinctly unique sensibility and flavour palette compared to other parts of the country. Khua Kling Pak Sod, a family-run establishment that seeks to recreate that Southern Thai culinary experience, does so with aplomb. So sit back and let yourself get swept up in the myriad of tastes and spices (did we emphasise how spicy Southern Thai food is?) on offer.

Dig into an eponymous dish of Khua Kling Moo Sab, or stir-fried southern-style dry Khua Kling curry with minced pork. Addictive even as it sets your taste-buds aflame, you won’t be able to stop guzzling this one down once you start. Another must-try is the Pla Tod Kamin, a deep-fried fish dish with turmeric which will make for an intensely fragrant, thoroughly flavourful option. You also can’t miss the Bai Leang Tom Kati Goong, a concoction of ‘Bai Leang’ southern green leaves and herbs simmered with coconut milk and prawns. It’s good stuff – hearty and extremely tasty. And the Gaeng Luang Yod Madprao Pla, or spicy yellow curry soup with young coconut shoot and fish, is one for the ages. Hitting all the right notes in its tastes, textures, and fresh ingredients, it’s as good as it can get. The restaurant’s owners are fiercely committed to authenticity, and it shows with each dish at Khua Kling Pak Sod – so give it a try! It’ll certainly be an experience to remember. (November 2017)

    The buzz

“Upon opening, Southern restaurant Khua Kling Pak Sod was the talk of the town. But hey, what do delicate Bangkokian tongues know about Southern food? Surprisingly, the buzz was well deserved. The eatery is unapologetically Southern, hitting every spicy note, which genuine home cooking from those parts is all about.” -BK Magazine Online
