    About

The culinary power couple behind Thailand’s progressive Bo Lan restaurant brings Bangkok diners the Err restaurant, a brave new concept to chew on. Adventurous foodies will find in-house preserved meats, street food and locally produced alcohol at this authentic Thai rustic restaurant. The vibe is almost irreverently casual with its graffiti art, unfinished walls which reveal red bricks and ceramic temple motifs that run across the bar counter.

This is where you will encounter the rustic side of Thai cuisine served by the roads, in the countryside and at the river markets at this cozy little outfit. Take your pick of preserved meats, pickled dishes, charcoal grills, crispy munchies, claypot stews, wok-fried plates, curries, spicy salads, hot soups made from native recipes around Thailand. “Sai Ouwa", the fragrant coconut smoked curry sausage hails from the Chiang Rai district. Bring on a few sticks of the comfort street food with a stick of "Naem", grilled northern style garlic and sticky rice cured pork.

Err continues to up the fun with their dose of creative mixology in their audacious usage of locally fermented liquor from ingredients such rice, sugar cane and corn. Flower Market Number One is a refreshing number with a base of sugar cane spirit, guava fruit and mint leaves. The typically Thai herb basil leaf in the GMtini’s mix of corn spirit and lime and is sure to make you feel right at home.

There is an implied invite in the restaurant’s name for all to drop by and say yes to their version of urban rustic Thai food. So don’t be shy and come to say hi. (November 2015)

    The buzz

“ERR makes contemporary Thai tapas served alongside cocktails that are equally local and creative.” -BK Magazine

“Even the humble yum kai dao, or fried egg salad, becomes a sculptural tribute, the eggs turning into streaking meteors, landed in just the right hint of fish, lime and shallots.” -Bangkok 101
