    In a city known for its quality Japanese food, Hagi presents some of the best, served up in a restful, traditional setting, with a kitchen dedicated to classic flavours and high-quality ingredients. The specialty here is Teppanyaki, featuring top-notch fresh ingredients sizzled to perfection on screaming hot cast-iron pans: the air here is filled with the sweet scent of gently rendering meats and the promise of umami on the tongue.

    The beef selection here is superb. No less than premium Matsuzaka Beef, available in a range of cuts, is available for your indulgence. Savour its signature buttery flavours and perfect marbling, and discover why this is often considered the best beef from Japan. Not to be outdone, there’s also Australian Wagyu and other Australian beef selections that are gentler on the budget, but just as delicious. Pork and chicken round off the meat options here, but it’s the Chef’s Signature Grilled Dish, featuring a beautiful orb of miso-marinated Foie Gras, that steals the show: perfectly tender and enriched with the salty-sweet flavours of miso, this is a foie gras dish not to be missed. For more umami delights, there’s fresh seafood: local River Prawns, Tasmanian Salmon Trout, and Japanese Scallops get their turn to dance about the grill and into your mouth, paired with the perfect accompaniment to seafood: garlicky fried rice. Take a step into premium seafood territory and you’ve got meaty Pacific Mackerel, Chilean Snow FIsh, and rich Lobster to choose from.
