New Zealand is known for turning out some of the greatest rugby players in the world, and what better way to appreciate the fine sport then to kick back with a pint, some local nosh, and a big screen?

It’s hard to resist stepping into the lively atmosphere of The Kiwi, where a sports game is always playing on the bar’s fancy screen. From the menu are traditional pub favourites, such as burgers and pies. Try the Kiwi Burger, where a grilled beef patty is given a refreshing twist with slices of sweet beetroot, carrot slaw, and a fried egg. Otherwise, tuck into the Shepherd's Pot Pie, a comforting concoction of New Zealand lamb and vegetable stew, topped with golden mashed potatoes and sharp cheddar.

For mains, The Kiwi offers a good selection of fish and chips, chicken, and ribs. New Zealand is known for their meats, so dishes such as the NZ Lamb Shank or the NZ Striploin Steak are definitely worth trying. The former is a slow-cooked lamb shank, fall-off-the-bone tender and very flavourful, paired with roasted vegetables and a savoury gravy.
