      If you have lived and work in Bangkok for a while, you would most probably have heard of Lhao Lhao Restaurant, an unassuming Thai-Chinese seafood joint situated at the heart of the Ari neighbourhood. Though this popular restaurant has been serving loyal diners for more than 35 years, it has kept up with the times and is most popular with laidback officer workers and young couples. Post-1am, the crowd becomes youngsters feeling hungry after a fun night out; after all, what can beat cosy local dishes for supper?

      But even if you aren’t a regular club-goer, Lhao Lhao Restaurant should still be in you list of must-go restaurants in Bangkok. Apart from a wide variety of local dishes, the food here is delicious, authentic, and reasonably-priced. The main star is the eclectic selection of seafood, so don’t forget to feast on mouthwatering classics such as the tantalising Grilled Squid served with Spicy Sauce, the Spicy Pickled Feminine Crab Salad, and the Steamed Silver Pomfret With Chinese Plum Sauce. For something a little different, try the Boiled Chinese Fish Head with Taro in Hot Pot, where the sweetness of the taro perfectly complements the tender flesh of the fish.
