    There is no lack of sushi restaurants in Bangkok, but Maguro Sushi has taken this revered Japanese culinary tradition to an entirely new level. Much like the eating spot’s caramel-tinged minimalist decor, the philosophy behind the food is straightforward, focusing solely on high-quality seafood without any bells and whistles. And this laser-like focus on producing good food has helped the restaurant build an army of followers, allowing the franchise to expand from one shop to four within a quick 18 months.

    Start your meal at Maguro with the Hamaguri Sakemushi Soup, an evergreen palate-cleanser. A dish that’s winning over crowds, this clear broth is insanely refreshing and arrives at your table practically overflowing with fresh clams. The Trio of Oysters, served three ways, is another seemingly simple dish but bursting with deep and complex flavours. For sheer indulgence, why not try the Grand Matsu Roll. This rich roll comprises buttery uni, decadent caviar, foie gras, and avocado. Of course, it wouldn’t be a meal without an accompanying drink. Have your pick from drinks like sparkling Lemon Soda and alcoholic plum wine Kacha Umeshu.
