    If you’re craving Italian fare while in Phuket, make a beeline for Fresca Kitchen, located in the Rawai district.

    This homely restaurant dishes out hearty Italian dishes, starting from the Seafood Bar where an array of fresh seafood awaits. Take your pick of Seared Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio or chilled Poached Lobster with a generous squeeze of lemon. Got a thing for Lobster Rolls? The version at Fresca Kitchen is particularly moreish, where chopped lobster meat is tossed with onions and celery, then slathered on toasted soft rolls with lashings of homemade mayonnaise.

    Charcoal-grilled meats are a specialty at Fresca Kitchen, so the steaks and rack of lamb here are must-try dishes. The Grain-Fed Black Angus Ribeye is a popular choice, where a deliciously-marbled slab of meat is slowly cooked over smouldering coals for that smoke-kissed flavour. Charred kale and confit tomatoes add a vibrant burst of juiciness to the dish. For a more tender cut of meat, try the Beef Short Ribs which are slow-cooked for 48 hours, and served with a sweet apple and shoyu glaze.

    Pastas are made fresh daily, so don’t leave without tucking into a plate of steamy noodles. The Pappardelle Ragu is a classic — braised beef and tomatoes are simmered to make a rich, tangy sauce that coats the fresh egg noodles. Or try the Ravioli a la Caprese, pillowy pockets stuffed with light ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
