Well-known as one of the top restaurants in Shanghai, Hai Pai means modern Shanghainese spirit, aiming to bring gourmet diners a brand new dining experience that reflects the neighborhood culture and style. Created by Executive Chef Jacqueline Qiu and Chef de Cuisine Johnny Xiang, the menu features delicious home style cooking by using fresh local products and carefully sourced specialty ingredients from around China.

Signature dishes include deep-fried carp fillet, crispy eel, wok-fried river shrimps with ‘dragon-well’ tea leaves, raw beef salad, slow cooked Iberico pork cheek and drunken “Peony” prawns with aged Shaoxing wine. The old-Shanghai style dim sum selections are also highly recommended such as Shanghainese pork dumplings, crispy sweetened doughnut and glutinous rice cake. (Aug 2014)
