    About

Hotel restaurants are so often exorbitantly expensive and, occasionally, a let-down in terms of concept or flavour. It may be difficult to find that sweet spot between price and quality but Taste at the ibis Bangkok Riverside has set the benchmark for all to follow. Situated by the famous Chao Phraya River, the hotel is in a spot primed for relaxation and the restaurant makes full use of its location by providing both indoor and alfresco riverside dining.

All of that, however, is merely a bonus on top of the menu options open to you. Not only does Taste aim to provide a spread which is both appetizing and won’t break the bank, they’ve eschewed the usual methods of buffet or full sized meals. While the dishes on offer are tried-and-tested local delights, Taste capitalizes on the idea of tapas and presents you with portions just large enough to act as, well, a taste of Thailand. You’ll be able to sample Tom-Kah-Kai (chicken in coconut milk), Phad Thai, Phad-Kaprao (stir-fried hot chilli and hot basil with a choice of meat), and more, without feeling the pinch both in your wallet and your waistband. It’s a fresh departure from the normal hotel eateries and one that you’ll appreciate once you see the variety of dishes on display. (December 2015)
