    About

    Think about Mexican food and you probably have an image of brightly-colored walls with a sombrero or two for decor. If you mention that to the guys at Touché Hombre though, they will probably answer you a raised eyebrow.

    That's because Touché Hombre looks as far removed from a typical Tex-Mex restaurant as possible. Located in a venue that is unabashedly hip, leather couches and brick walls with neon-lit signages fill the space. Pieces of art line the walls as old-school R&B and hip hop tunes play over the sound system. This decor is matched by the food, which manages to be both traditional and edgy at the same time.

    Touché Hombre’s kitchen serves up traditional Mexican flavors with contemporary twists. Crowd favourites include Elotes Callejeros (grilled corn on the cob with chipotle mayo, cotija cheese, and lime) and Kingfish Laminado (yellowtail ceviche in a mezcal marinade). The former bursts with flavour from the grill and is accented by the cheese and lime, while the latter has been praised for its freshness and excellent pairing with the mind-blowing mezcal flavours.

    The mixologists at Touché Hombre are excellent, so you will be spoilt for choice at the bar which offers a large variety of original and innovative cocktails. In an environment that this impossibly cool, there is no better way to sit back and relax than with a taco in one hand and a beautiful alcoholic concoction in the other. (August 2016)
