      About

      This is one of the city’s true farm-to-table destinations, featuring lamb, beef, pork, and vegetables grown on Thai farms in humane, chemical and hormone free environments. The result is homey Thai food that has amazing freshness of flavour, nutritional value, and a lighter ethical price-tag. The philosophy at work is respect for land and sea, and it shows in the food, a selection of classic Thai delights done exceptionally well in a family-style setting. Signatures here include the unusual Braised Beef Green Curry, tender chunks of brisket in an aromatic gravy that will light up your appetite. Chinese influences show in the Tofu & Marinated Pork Soup, a pungent, aromatic, and spicy number that goes down perfectly with rice. The show-stopper is the signature Massaman Curry with Braised Lamb Belly, a luxurious combination of warming curry with impossibly melt-in-your-mouth fatty meat.

      Wok-fried Thai classics are also available, each one given a special Baan-style gourmet touch. Think the classic pork stir-fry except featuring tender pork jowl in a fiery red curry paste, or Moo Kluk Foon, minced pork stir fried with explosively fragrant artisanal shrimp paste. Wind down this meal with perfectly executed Thai desserts like Taro Balls in Coconut Cream and Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango, a seasonal treat only available when mangoes are at their prime. With this attention to freshness, seasonality, and ethical produce, this may be one of the city’s most unmissable dining locations. (June 2018)
