      With the deluge of restaurants along Patong Beach vying for your attention, it can be hard to discern the good from the bad. Why not venture off the main street and take a turn on Thaweewong Road? Just around the corner from Patong Beach, Leo & Mas serves up authentic Italian and Mediterranean fare that gets our stamp of approval.

      Enjoy the coastal breeze at the charming al fresco dining area or take a seat indoors with the modern, clean-cut decor. The menu is extensive, but rest assured, it’s not quantity over quality here. The wood-fired pizzas, especially, deserve special mention. The crust is crispy yet chewy, and they do not scrimp on your favourite toppings. Classics such as the Marinara and the Napoletana plus inventive creations like the Porchetta, Patate e Gorgonzola, where a tomato base is topped with mozzarella, roasted pork, potatoes, and Gorgonzola cheese, are equally satisfying. Mains such as the Petto di Pollo Alla Cacciatora (pan-fried chicken breast Tuscan style) or the Filetto di Cernia alla Mediterranea (grouper fillet Mediterranean style) are not to be missed as well.

      And how can we forget about some good old pasta? The crowd-favourite Spaghetti alla Carbonara is executed perfectly and we just can’t get enough of the Fettuccine al Ragu - its slow-cooked minced beef, though drenched in luscious spicy tomato sauce, doesn’t lose its robust flavour and tenderness.
