    Offering all the flavours of classic Thai street food and home cooking in a cozy cafe setting, The Wok is a favourite among the myriad eateries at Patong for its affordable prices and homey bites. There’s also a modest selection of Western fare to tickle other parts of the palate, though the highlights here are the robust Thai favourites, flash cooked in -what else?- a sizzling wok.

    Piquant salads like Lab Kai, minced chicken tossed in lime juice, mint, shallots and julienned vegetables give the meal a tangy, crunchy start. Rice and noodle dishes have pride of place here, though, with their popular renditions of Pad Thai and Ki Mao Kai, fresh green peppercorn-studded fried noodles with chicken, gunning for top dishes. Meatier plates include a selection of aromatic Thai red curries, the duck and beef versions providing a toothsome red meat option, perfect over mounds of steaming rice.
