    About

Located in the vintage brownstone Kam Leng Hotel on Jalan Besar, this restaurant exudes retro charm, even from the exterior. From the twinkling lights illuminating the signboard to the pop art illustrations of Chinese ladies with coiffed hair adorning the menu, stepping into this restaurant is like going back in time. The concept may be dated, but the food certainly isn’t. Founded solely on the principle of enjoying life while it lasts, this spot serves up delicious nosh at an affordable price.

Chef-Owner Joel lives by one principle, and that is making the most of precious moments by enjoying some of the best food life has to offer. Therefore it’s no surprise that the menu here consists of hearty local comfort food such as Chilli Prawns, “Te Kar” Bee Hoon, and Brandy Fish Soup.

The Curry Chicken is a must-try. The chicken is cooked in a special blend of spices till it is tender enough to fall off the bone, giving the dish a richness that is reminiscent of zi char stalls in the olden days. The Te Kar Bee Hook is a great option for diners who love hawker food. Made with thin stands of vermicelli tossed in a smoky, savoury homemade sauce, and topped with a generous portion of melt-in-your-mouth braised pork, this is the perfect dish to warm you up on a cold day.
