    Set within a relaxing space along Dempsey Road, Rakuichi specialises in dishing out authentic and tasty Japanese fare at pocket-friendly prices. Sashimi is a must to start the meal, and the fresh slices of raw fish presented elegantly on a platter are definite crowd-pleasers. Grilled meats are a highlight at Rakuichi — your eyes feast first on the generous cubes of meat on skewers, presented on a small charcoal-grill and cooked before you. It’s enough to work up an appetite (not that you’ll need to) for the smoke-kissed, lightly charred meats bursting with flavour. There’s also comfort food to indulge in, such as soft-shell crab karaage, plump breaded oysters that are crispy and creamy at the same time, as well as enoki mushrooms wrapped in thick strips of fatty bacon.
