    About

Pure creamy and melt-in-your-mouth indulgence. And no, we’re not talking about ice cream here. The Gyu Bar brings in one of the rarest wagyu in town — Wa-OH beef from the Kumamoto prefecture on Kyushu Island. If you’re wondering why this matters, imagine this: the super fresh air and pure, pristine waters make the perfect environment for grazing cows. The meat here is also extra-tender, thanks to a special blend of feed given to the animals. At Gyu Bar, you’ll find some surprising cuts as well as the usual ribeye and sirloin fillets. Try the tomo-sankaku (a cut near the bottom round). A considerably rare cut, the glistening meat is juicy and buttery, served with a crusty sear. A little dab of wasabi helps balance out the fattiness of the meat. There’s also shin-tama, which comes from the knuckle, as well as leaner cuts like short plate. Besides beef, Gyu Bar also offers other meats like pork neck or tontoro. (Feb 2019)

    The buzz

“At dinner time, a nice touch is taking your pick of a wall display of cute cups and having it filled with organic sake on the house.” -The Business Times, March 2018.
