      Meat-lovers will enjoy this one. Kongju Korean Restaurant turns out some of the best BBQs in Bangkok, and it’s easy to see why when their meats are prime quality. The slices of beef and pork are a vibrant red and pink hue, deliciously marbled with ‘snowy’ streaks; the chicken slices are fresh, and there’s also Norwegian salmon and locally-caught squids and fish. If all these sounds a little too heavy on the meat, Kongju thoughtfully serves Goo Jeol Pan as well. This royal Korean dish is made up of nine cold appetisers served with small round pancakes and a special seasoning sauce, and is a refreshing dish to cut through all the rich meats. For more traditional Korean fare, order up the Korean Chicken Ginseng Soup. Here, fresh chicken is simmered in the soup for hours, and slices of Korean ginseng and chestnuts are added to suffuse a deeper flavour into this tasty broth. Consider Kongju a haven for meat and seafood lovers alike. (January 2019)
